Haltcliffe Vermount Progeny

The Procters Herd purchased Haltcliffe Vermount at The Limousin Society February Bull sale at Carlisle in 2006.  David Thomlinson the auctioneer selling on behalf of H&H celebrated his 60th Birthday by knocking Haltcliffe Vermount down for the world record breaking price of 100 000gns. He had stood Overall Champion at the pre - sale show when shown by his breeders Messer’s Ridley.

His huge muscling, perfect top line and  extreme width over his pelvis which extends all the way down his back combined with his correctness and great mobility made him very desirable on sale day. We were very interested in his pedigree as Renoncule his dam is a tremendous cow we had admired on several occasions.

Semen is now available but unfortunately not for export or in Northern Ireland due to the bull having an IBR titre from vaccination.

The Semen is priced at £65 plus £35 semen royalty fee.

His mother was imported as a heifer from the noted Camus Huberson herd. Her sire is the famous Nenuphar. His sire, Umpire, is the noted stock bull in the Haltcliffe herd.

DJ was purchased jointly with the Netherhall Herd at the Feb 2010 at Carlisle H&H sale for 72 000gns.

DJ had stood Intermediate and Overall champion at the pre-show sale. His awesome scale, size, growth and tremendous muscling along with his width and squareness over his pelvis made him the very popular champion at the sale and were the reasons he was bought to compliment our herd.

The judge Harry Emslie commented

"This was an outstanding bull, one of the best seen yet from the Haltcliffe herd. He caught my attention as soon as I saw him for his power and scale coming towards you, and really filled my eye walking away. He was the real deal!"

It is a by a strange quirk of fate, both Haltcliffe DJ and Haltcliffe Vermount were born on the date of 22nd May.
